I hate this. I hate that we live in a culture that disempowers people and then tells them that it's their own fault that they're powerless and they're on their own to struggle as best as they can.

This is just ridiculous. What is the point of having a restraining order if the police are not liable for failing to enforce it? "Here have this piece of paper, but don't bother to call us if you need to use it...."

Victims of abusive folks all over the country are already suffering enough. This is a horrible reflection of ourselves as a country that our highest court could rule this way.
