Seriously, on the shopping front, my partner and I are planning a trip to new zealand at some point in the next year. Anyone have any relevant travel books to recommend?

Might "in the next year" be stretched to June 2006? Because people are mooting an alt.polycon to be held there then.

Not that I'd want to fly halfway around the globe to meet you, or anything.

prolly not -- I think we're really aiming for spring or fall.

I'm a little sad that the alt.poly all-small concept has been shelved; I'd found that interesting enough that I'd been planning on attending.
