name-dropping
Sep. 19th, 2004 10:00 pmYesterday Ethan and I went to the jewelry shop on 15th. The jeweler reminded me eerily of
elisem -- tone of voice, patterns of speech, mannerisms, spiky blond hair, reassuring air of competence. The three rings we liked were each half what we'd budgeted, and she's ordering us all three, in both our sizes, so we can try 'em on and send back the two styles we don't like! And then she'll stretch Ethan's appropriately (he's inconveniently five-and-a-quarter size) and adjust the finishes however we'd like. We will definitely be doing business with her.
I dreamed last night that film had jammed in
aynjel's camera and she gave it to me to un-jam...and I promptly managed to expose the film to light. Unambiguous anxiety dream.
somebunny brought over The Sims 2 today to show
aynjel. I think I may need to make this household own at least one and possibly two copies of this game. (which means, possibly, y'all won't see much of me for the next, um, several months or so...)
Talked a bit with
thursdayrome about gardens and underwear. She had some fine ideas about what to do with the pile of dirt that once was my front lawn. These fine ideas had nothing to do with underwear; I was attempting (poorly) to multi-task and order some new bras from onehanesplace because several of mine are disintegrating.
gloriajn and
amai_unmei and
searob came by today. Ostensibly to help stuff envelopes, but really to hang out.
gloriajn and I have lived in the same city for years; it's about time we shy folk actually got together and said hi. (and more than hi; it was a fun afternoon.) She's as foxy in person as she is online.
On the way back from coffee we ran into Ethan and a pair of friends heading off to dinner, so I traded off groups-of-friends and got my very hungry ass down to kidd valley for a gardenburger (despite my insistence that what I *really* needed today was Real Food). And then back home for some sprawling on the heated kitchen floor, and then some movie-watching and snuggling. (hm. I spent the evening with three non-lj-users, and this is supposed to be a namedropping post. well, we did talk some about
greywulf, does that count? oh, and I interrupted the movie briefly to say hi to
jaylake, who was passing through.)
I was surprised not to see
gazebo_tree this weekend but we did have a nice chat on the phone.

on 2004-09-20 10:09 am (UTC)Ethan said something that reminded him of you -- which I believe started with "hooray!". Then he paused, and said that he missed you. We reassured him that you'd been working and we were sure he'd get to see you soon, and he grumbled a little.
Later K., in a rather cute befuddled three-hours-of-sleep-plus-a-triathlon kind of way, was explaining why she had to leave and get to bed at a reasonable hour. She said that she was going to be working out with Ethan...to which we responded, no, I think you're thinking about that other cute short jewish boy.
I think that's mostly it; there wasn't much talking during the movie. You may have come up during dinner, but I was too busy consuming calories to pay much attention to the conversation at that point.
