sushi good
Mar. 9th, 2004 11:20 pmIt's good to be the sysad. Periodically a user will treat me to sushi as a thank-you. This never happened when I was doing system administration for a living rather than for love. :)
Mashiko's got some yummy sushi, though they're a little hit-or-miss. The negitoro was nothing to write home about, and the "temptation island" roll (onion tempura, with hamachi on top) was surprisingly bland, though interesting nonetheless. And they had no snapper! Hmph. But one of the rolls someone else at the table ordered, called something vaguely like 'the cheezy crocodile' (not kidding. unagi, cream cheese, some vegetable stuff) was surprisingly yummy. The hamachi and albacore were acceptable, the appetizers were creative, the ambiance was fun. the sign just inside the door said "please wait to be seated (unless you're illiterate)".
Anyway. Yum.
My headache isn't all gone, but it's subsided some (it had better, after three advil this morning and two allieve this evening!) and the same person who bought me sushi gave me a nice long backrub, along with a nice long rambling conversation about nothing and everything with me and two of my housemates.
I've got good housemates. And my server has good users. And my cat is warm and soft, if a bit poky on the underside. And I've a good book and a new issue of F&SF to keep me company 'till I'm ready to sleep. And I know my boy will crawl into bed with me sometime late tonight. Life is good.
