crochet buttons? Sheesh. No. I mean, it would be cute to have the buttons match the band on that cotton baby sweater...but not if I have to spend several hours crocheting the buttons and then sewing them on. And, how much would four cute little buttons cost, anyway? (actually, I may not want to know the answer to that.)

Got all the ends woven in on the baby sweater. Two more ends than predicted, actually -- I found a dropped stitch while I was at it, and stitched it to the back side with a bit of yarn.

Maybe if I block it again the button band will stop curling quite so badly. Apparently I knit tightly enough that an inch of flat edging won't cure my stockinette curl.

And, I've decided: mercerized cotton, too shiny to hide my mistakes. Every stitch is horrifyingly vivid. Ditto for silk. When I decide to use up the leftover yarn, I'll be mixing it with something fuzzy! Good thing I'm drowning in laceweight mohair.

Found a fifth unfinished object. That bag I'm planning to felt is still sitting here in a basket. I can't find the I-cord I'd started for it, though. This one's stuck 'till I can figure out where that went. And then finish the I-cord. Or, give up on the I-cord, since I find it very boring, and just decide that I'll use something else for straps for the bag. The bag's going to be tiny, though. Even after I upped the needle size three times or so, it's still a little small and tight for felting (big and loose for not-felting, though). I blame the mosaic stitch pattern -- this is going to be one dense bag. Once I figure out how I'm going to manage the straps, that is...
