Finished Objects
Feb. 11th, 2006 01:08 pmThird finished object ever:

And, dammit, I've mislaid the label for the fuzzy yarn. For my own records: One skein of the fuzzy, one of the worsted-weight acrylic. Holding both yarns together, cast on thirty stitches using size 13 needles. Knit across all stitches, 30 rows. Drop fuzzy yarn. Move to smaller needles...and I've already forgotten what size; it was either the 10.5 or the 9. Knit three, purl three (x5). Repeat for four feet. Move back to larger needles, garter stitch 30 rows. Bind off. Single-crochet along edge of ribbed section with fuzzy yarn.
I was going to make the scarf much longer, and then sew the big wide ends into hand-warming pockets, but I got really bored with the 3x3 rib.
And, not exactly finished, because I've only made one so far, but:

This is a test; it's the first thing I ever did out of that book. I used the Ugly Koigu (I bought a bunch for a prior project, and returned all but the one hank I'd started playing with, because I discovered it was much uglier than it had looked, in the questionable lighting at the yarn store). I'm still not sure how I feel about the book. There was one error in the pattern that I've found already. The directions are a little vague. The booties have a seam that runs down the sole from toes to heel.
In the meantime, I'm going to knit up the second bootie, because it's good practice.
And then, maybe I'll make a hat, next.
