sevMy father supplied an answer to the first question: In what way would a man use a silk scarf? Knot it around his kneck as an ascot when wearing a dressy coat.
The second question I'm making less traction on: What does someone -- of any gender -- do with a scarf that's too short to knot around the kneck? This scarf is lovely but it's only six inches wide and 24 inches long. I fear it's going to end up a doily...
