sevnoon yesterday: the dishwasher didn't finish draining at the end of the cycle and dumped water all over the floor when opened.
afternoon yesterday: dishwasher spins its motor but does not actually use any water.
today: dishwasher works just fine. So, it was just when I had cleanup for seven quarts of minestrone (and the half-dozen or so people I fed it to) that I had to wash those dishes by hand...
guess I won't be calling a repairperson just yet. (instead, spend my time voting, getting my laptop repaired, moving laundry around, washing burning man dishes, working on invitation enclosures, addressing envelopes, cleaning kitchen...)
