lace lace lace
Jan. 6th, 2007 03:32 pmI've had this craving to knit lace for the past several days.
I blame
kightp and
grettacook. The former for all the pretty lace she makes and posts pictures of, and the latter for the vast quantity of laceweight kid mohair she gave me.
I can't imagine that I'll really have the focus for any of the complicated shawls or scarves I want to make. Or even the less-complicated ones. Like the one I started already with black mohair held together with that pink and black slubby stuff. one rectangular scarf, two-repeats-wide, 13-stitches and 12-rows per repeat...that's less-complicated, right? ahem. I'm working the lace from this pattern, but in a little scarf, not a shawl.
And I really wanna start a shawl of some sort, too. Something to at least take a bite out of the collection of pink/orange/gold yarn I've been collecting. But really...why start another project I won't be able to finish? I should finish the hard stuff I've got and only start easy things. The baby will show up sooner, rather than later, and I'll be glad for some mindless garter stitch.
but, but, but it's all so *pretty*!
