I spoke on the phone with a treasured high school friend this afternoon. I am really, really ready for the universe to stop fucking with him.

the good news is that he says they caught it early and it is responding to treatment. the bad news is that it's colon cancer. :(

well, I've never in my life managed to kindle the lights every day of chanukah. I think that this year's actually managing two nights in a row may be a personal record...
