Puddle. Big puddle. In the cabinet underneath the vegetable sink.

Coming from, as far as I can tell, the base of the faucet under the granite but above the plywood, since the top of the counter is not wet, but the bottom is. That would be: the only part of it I can't actually *see*.

I'm leaving on a train trip tomorrow and will be gone for four days. It's very tempting to just leave this and ask that someone who's here get it fixed while I'm gone; I do live with four other people, after all. One of whom is the other owner. However, the only other time we've had Big Puddle problems was when the basement was flooding. That was the day before I left on my *last* (and only other) train trip. And I got back a week and a half later and nothing had been done (despite the flooding being through the foundation wall closest to the server closet. ahem). So, while this problem is likely smaller in scope than that one was, I'm not optimistic it'll be addressed by anybody but me.

I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to diagnose this; I can turn off the water lines and take apart the faucet, but unless I see something obviously cracked, I'm unlikely to figure out where the leakage is ocurring if I can't watch it happen.

Sigh. I'll try not to think too hard about the water damage to the base of the cabinet. Or the hole in the base of the cabinet where the pipes come in...and where most of the leakage likely went. At least, not yet.

This suggests that perhaps I should not plan any more train trips, as I'm two-for-two with associated flooding in my house.

ta-da!

Managed to get to the tops of the access lines and tightened the nut around which water was leaking. Despite serious need for three hands (one to hold the faucet up out of the hole in the counter, one to hold the wrench that kept the hose from twisting, and one to actually tighten the nut, with a second wrench). There is no obvious water leaking from there anymore. Got a promise from a friend to take a look when he comes over for gaming night tonight; of course, that was after I put everything back together.

go, me.
