This hat threatened to be too small right up until the earflaps were nearly done and then suddenly it was unmistakeably too big.  I love the colors and the stitch pattern, though.

I clearly need to find someone with a big head who needs a bright hat.

Ooh, really nice! My hats tend to turn out too big at the last minute, too. What's that about?

I suspect it's because hats are round and heads aren't as regularly round. So those last bits that make it big enough also make the already-big-enough parts too-big.
