Rather than racing out and purchasing all the yarn toys I currently want, I'm just gonna write them down. And maybe buy some of them, some day, or maybe find three months from now that I don't want them anymore and have been fine doing without.

lace blocking wires
yarn swift
ball winder (actually, I want to make one out of lego)
interchangeable needles kit ([profile] pk_knits  recommends Denise brand)

The wires run around $25. The other stuff is all upwards of $40 each, so convincing myself I don't need them is perhaps a good thing. If I finish the mohair lace shawl I'm working on (which is much bigger now than it was when I took those photos), I'll find the desire for the needles and the wires waning again, until the next time I do a big lace project.

And, I want to find a pattern for a lace border that will do justice for my big lace shawl. Something scallopy or pointy or something, I guess. I suppose I could just go border-less, but the four skeins of yarn don't match perfectly, and I think a border will help it look more cohesive -- I'm two skeins in, and the second one is redder than the first one, and has pink bits the first one didn't. I striped the two skeins for twenty rows or so, to ease in the color change, so the transition isn't obvious but the difference between the two sections is still apparent.

Oh, you totally need an umbrella swift and a ball winder. I'll be your enabler on this one. They're so much fun!

Or, if you'd rather save the money a while longer, I'll bring mine over sometime and you can wind a bunch of your yarn while I rock the little one.
