roleplaying
I am very glad this current roleplaying game, where we're playing characters based on ourselves, is coming to a close. It's been fun (more fun when the GM gets tipsy & takes off her shirt) but really, one of the nice things about roleplaying is getting *away* from the limits I experience in normal day-to-day life.
Periodically, I'll do something brave, rash, and/or spontaneous, and somebody in my gaming group will note that I'm channeling my favorite D&D character, who was outgoing and risk-taking in ways that I'm normally not. Having a bit of Verrin stick, even after we've stopped playing that game, was a good thing.
Maybe next time I'll create a character that's big and dumb. I think that would be fun.

This would often sufficiently confused the (more intelligent) monsters that the rest of the party could do something useful, like kill them.

We never got around to explaining where her mystical powers came from, though.
