sev_and_baby. I've made a separate journal for talking about baby stuff, so I don't have to clutter *this* journal with it, and so that I can let family members keep up to date without having to wade through whatever might be here.

- yes, this was on purpose. (okay, this is not a commonly-asked question, but I've suspected some people of wondering.)
- I'm seven weeks in, and due in late December. I knew pretty much as early as I could know, as I was paying excrutiatingly close attention.
- it'll be awhile before we know the gender, but yes, we'll be finding out before the birth.
- The kid will be getting a hyphenated last name, but Z & I haven't started the discussion about a first name, yet.
- I'm experiencing near-constant nausea and fatigue, so I haven't been getting out much. Despite this, I'm still going to Wiscon. If the flight really wears me out, well, we're getting there early so I can spend extra time collasped in my hotel room if I have to.

(And condolences on the nausea you probably didn't want!)

We can be collapsed in our respective hotel rooms at Wiscon together. (Or separately. Um, you know what I mean.) Not that I have a good excuse like pregnancy - just overwork.
I hope the nausea/fatigue go away quickly.

If you want to discuss nausea aids, ping me in email. I had unusually bad nausea (including a hospitalization at one point), and learned what could keep it at least moderately at bay so I could function. (In my case 'function' was be able to teach a class where every break I'd go to the bathroom and yack. Good thing I was the teacher and could call the breaks...)
