while I suspect that attempting to level the dirt-pile that is my front yard with a rake is a futile endeavor, it's unsurprisingly kind of zen.

Zen-like it may be, but beware the pain in your lower back and shoulders if you engage in it for too long or too vigorously. That's why I was walking like an old lady last night - too much raking, hoeing, and shoveling!
