It's official; the sewer line needs to be replaced.

This is going to be expensive. And noisy and messy, but as it doesn't have to be done immediately I'm arranging for it to be done while I'm out of town.

Did you get water backup into your basement in the most recent rain (aka Saturday night)?

I had a camera down the sewer a few months ago. The main line is in poor shape. This city is so odd about sewer ownership. Normally you one the line only up to the point of your property line, but here the city makes you own the line up to the main pipe. This means you have to dig up city streets to fix your own line.
Weird, and expensive :(
