question for my knitting friends

I have a bunch of very thin slubby yarn. The thin parts are like two threads twisted together -- a soft black and a shiny pink -- and the thick slubs of pink are far apart. (photographs coming soon.)

What would you do with yarn like this? I find that workin it on larger needles doesn't really do it justice, but nothing I've done with it on smaller needles has made me happy, either.

There are a couple of challenges I'm experiencing with it -- one, that the thin parts are so very thin. Two, that the black and pink are very contrasty.

Maybe if I held it together with a strand of black yarn, and then did ... something with it.

Or perhaps, this is the day I learn to like garter stitch (since the slubs tend to end up on the purl side of stockinette).

or, or, or...
